DirectPlay & DPVSetup.exe ?????

OK, i have a headset that i use for online voip and I am constantly turning
the headset on and off, so, going from using my headset for all sounds and
voice, back to my sound card and speakers, and i usually do this through the
control panel/Sounds&audio devices, but today, i went to set all the audio
devices back to my headset, and it diddnt work, i did the "test hardware"
under the voice tab and it came out saying error, could not find DirectPlay
voice setup, i clicked ok and then it said to install DPVsetup.exe through
the control panel. i dont know what happend to these so if someone could help
it would be much appreciated.
