Hi There,

I am having blue screen errors on my vista home software. It came pre installed when pc was purchased.
Packard Bell sent me a Windows 7 a long while ago, but I did not install it. If I install it now, will I have to reinstall all the other programs on the pc and will it resolve the blue screen error if it is software based?

Thanks

As long as both versions are either 32 bit or 64 bit, and assuming packard bell sent you an upgrade disk, you should be able to do an inplace upgrade, meaning you wouldn't have to reinstall programs.

You may however want to do a clean install. depending on how many programs you have installed, an in-place upgrade can take a while.
