a search did not turn anything up. I very much apologize if I missed a previous answer.

What is the most powerful mPCIe wifi card ?

I see several Gigabyte cards with an Atheros chipset pop up on a web and ebay search.
Shows a GN-WI06N-RH (a,b,g,n) , GN-WI01GT (b,g), and a GN-WS31N RH on ebay with 100mw tx and "powerful reception" capability. Going to the gigabyte website tells me nothing about Tx or Rx power and tells me almost nothing to differentiate the cards.

Searching powerful mPCIe wifi (tried lots of variants) didn't turn up much other than those- so not like I am leaning that way, they are just all that showed up.

My laptop:
I have an NC2400 with an Intel based min pci-e wifi card. It is a two antenna b,g card.

I am deployed with the Army and our Wifi signal is pretty week even right next to the building. Most times the laptop card won't work. Even using a Hawking directional PCMCIA card I have a crap connection. I have an external USB wifi booster I found, but it would sure be nice to not have something else to lug around.

Anyway- would appreciate any help folks could render.

thanks
david

You don't need a better card, you need a better antenna. Building them yourself is pretty darn easy.

This is the one I like the best. Has a nice js calculator in it, too.
