Hello,
i installed win 7 after formatting winxp but after installing i can see only one partitioned space d drive ,there is about 190gb unused space gow can i utilize ..

well try this
\
1 click start and start typing this diskmgmt.msc ,open it.
2 look there should be your hard drive, and unused space marked
3 create partition
