How do I get the right drivers so that my original xp cd will install on my reformatted hard drive? I also don't have a floppy drive on my Toshiba laptop to hit F6 during install. Can I get the drivers on a CD?
Two suggestions that have been made in the forum are:
1. To disable AHCI or to click "native Sata mode" at BIOS. That option is not in my Phoenix Bios. Is it safe to update the Bios? Some warn against this as it would make the hard drive into a piece of junk.
2. Slipstreaming the xp with the needed drivers is suggested. I would appreciate if someone would give me guidance as to how I could get the right drivers into a folder and then use it for the slipstreaming. To be sure, HOW MANY files should be there, and THE EXT. LETTERS (e.g. INF or BIN etc. - how many in each case?)
