My computor will not unmute

Hello,
my computor will not unmute i press the unmute button and it will not speak i need some trouble shooting steps nice and detailed the unmute button is not stuck on the key board it will not unmute i press it inside the computor and it goes back to the mute sign
my computor does not have sound i went to volume mixer-device-speakers,dual headp[hone-lightbar osecond column application-sound button is not lit.

start-->control panel-->sounds and audio devices-->audio tab-->make sure you have a Sound Playback device selected from the drop down box.

If you have Windows 7, press the arrow near the clock, then click on the speaker and check if the bar is at full.

I had this issue but it was my soundcard muting itself try this First press ctrl+alt+delete brings up the task manager now open your volumn control and click unmute while watching the processes tab on the task manager Take note of which programs begin using the most cpu usage one of these programs may be the problem if you think you found the right one the highlight it and click end process it may fix it not sure if it will help but it fixed mine and I was mad as hell good luck man
