I just installed 4 Gigs of memory into my Dell Dimension 8400. How do I check and make sure that all for of the sets of rame are inserted and working correctley?
I have gone to My Computer and checke and it shows that there are 3.25 gigs of memory. Shouldnt there be 4.0 gigs?
it is installed correctly, the reason it is showing 3.25 is because 32bit operating systems can only use up to 3.25gb, 4gb is only accessible if you are using 64bit.

Take note atleast with the Dell 9400 (i own one) it is limited to 3gb (2x2gb, Windows 7 x64) thanks to the design or perhaps the bios - doubt yours also suffers such an issue but keep it in mind also, but 3.25gb sounds like the 32-bit limit
