I recently purchased an Epson 750 Pro scanner to scan 35 mm negatives shot with Kodacolor X in 1964 - 6. I am new to film scanning. I am attempting to use the SilverFast Ai software that comes bundled withs the Epson scanner. Kodacolor X is not among the film types for which they supply NegaFix profiles. Kodacolor X is apparently an antique in the film realm and I have been unable to find profiles for scanning Kodacolor X.
The tech folks at SilverFast have suggested that I can create my own profile using the expert dialogue in SilverFast Ai. I feel unqualified to begin this process. I am hoping to find someone who has invented this wheel or someone more familiar with "picking the lock" of creating color profiles who can help me create color profile or profiles for Kodacolor X negatives.
I am beginning to realize that scanning film is not just "plug and play", but I would like to utilize any information that exists, rather than trying to invent something for which I am little qualified.
