Ok, so ill tell you guys my assumtions, and my plans, and then if you could please tell me how half cocked my plan is :p

It was my understanding (dunno if its true or not) that I can use the adapter that came with my sapphire X800pro to plug a second standard monitor into my video card. I would like to use 2 monitors when im working on webpages and graphics.

now, the second part of my plan would run the second monitor through a KVM switch (with just the video going through it) with source A) being my second computer, and source B) being the DVI port on my x800pro. This would allow me to use the monitor with my second computer, or with the flip of the switch allow me to use my main with 2 monitors.

would this work or am I blowing smoke out my ears?

In my oppinion, it wouldn't be a problem.
I have a KVM switch at home, and it has no inpact on what you do with your screen when using a dual view.
