Dell 1600n network scanner device not found

There is a Dell 1600n MFP here. Its on an IP address 10.250.250.50. I can ping it from other computers and they can all print to it without issues.

I just tried installing the software that came with it so I can scan from it, however, the "dell network scan manager" is unable to find the scanner. I tried adding the scanner manually which worked ok, however when i got to try to open the XP scan wizard it says "the computer cannot detect the scanner or camera"

I'm at a loss of what to do.
