About hdmi

HDMI 1.4 has new set of standards incorporated into it. There are HDMI 1.3b, 1.2, 1.1a, 1.1, 1.0, etc. standards such as deep x.v. color, 7.1 master DTS HD audio, etc.

You should check the standard of your electronic device with an HDMI input and choose the cable accordingly. You can almost always choose a cable with higher HDMI standard because it is backward compatible.
