how do i burn dvds on my desktop?

First check your computer has a DVD burner and which type of disc it supports -- recent ones support
both -R and +R. Then get a DVD burner program -- I use KoyoteSoft -- it's free and works well (see download sites like FileHippo or MajorGeeks) Ashampoo Lite is free too.
