Help with LCD, broke part of monitor!

hi everyone,

I took apart a dell 15" LCD monitor for a project im working on. I only need the LCD to be working and don't care about the backlight. When i reconnected it together, i made a mistake by not connecting the backlight, and something blew up.

so im pretty sure the LCD itself is fine. But surely certain parts of the monitor is broken now that i won't turn on.

anyway can I purchase some VGA thingy, and connect it to my LCD? so that it still shows a picture. i dont care about back light.
basically thats my question, any way to still use the LCD.

i only care about VGA connection
