a8n sli deluxe
amd64 3500 venice
2 gig pc3200
2 desktar sata ii hdd in raid 0, 128 stripe on the sil img controller
win xp

i have one or two sata i drives, unformatted laying around

i want to add them to the machine, not in the raid array,
i plan on backing up some files than moving the hdd to another computer and do some more backign up etc.,

how is this done, can it be done (i have 8 sata spots on mobo)
how do i format the hdd
should i get another sata ii drive for the hotswap capability

ty in advance for any help

I thought it should be that simple, but its not working, i think the drive is bad, I tried plugging it in the nvdia sata controllers,

I have a Xaser III case and 600w power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811133120

Depending on which controller you put it on, you may need another set of drivers, and/or you may need to go into bios and activate it.
