No bootable device error Toshiba Laptop HELP!!!!

I was just on the laptop browsing the internet as normal then all of a sudden out of nowhere it shuts off. Turn it on again and I get this screen:

Then I got to the BIOS:

Then checked bootable devices:

The HDD is still connected:

So what do I do? I have valuable files and photos on this hard drive and do not wish to reformat or reinstall my OS. Help is much appreciated :)

  1. You've just learned the hard way the value of backups. It's most likely that the hard drive has failed and requires replacement. It might be possible for a professional recovery service to retrieve your files but there are not guarantees nor is it inexpensive.
