I have a Compaq 1.4 that has PC133 256 sdram. I want to put in another 256, do I have to buy special compaq memory or can I get any pc133 256 meory. Please help
Over half the standard modules on the market should work fine. Probably over 3/4 of them. But Compaq does do some weird things that often prevent certain modules from working correctly.
If you can source the RAM locally, at a good price, it's worth a try. If you buy it online, with online return penalties, you'd better make sure it's varified to work first.
Crucial.com has a memory selector that garuntees compatibility. And Crucial offers free 3-5 day shipping, plus a lifetime warranty against failure.
