I have a Gateway 24" LCD since 2 years now which works great and has become the standard size for most gamers/enthusiast crowd. For a while there it looked like they were coming out with 26" models (25.5) and a couple 27" ones as well. All of a sudden they stopped and went with these smaller wider 16:9 monitors and staying under 24". Why is this? If I want to upgrade I dont want to go backwards with some crazy 23.4 " or 24.5" model and no height adjustable crap. Why did they stop making the 26" models and 27". I know Hanns G has their 28 incher which Im leary of but I dont understand the recent shift. The benefit being no black bars on top and bottom to watch movies on?

There are still 25.5" (26" ) LCD monitor available.

I just recently bought a Planar PX2611w to use in a dual monitor setup (a long with my 26" NEC LCD2690WUXi). It seems Planar will be releasing an updated version of the PX2611w with two DVI-D ports instead of just one. Not release date was given, but probably at the end of the year.
