Between those the HP model has a better GPU with a weaker CPU,so a better option that has Core2Duo and HD 4650 would be Sager NP2098:

Good specs + good price + good build quality too :)

Only Problem I see with that, is the Turon II is 2.3ghz, and the Core Duo is only 2.0. Both of the notebooks i've listed have 4gb ram, and a larger hard drive, and higher decidated ram for video.

The Turion may be clocked faster, but the Core Duo is more efficient/clock, and will outperform the AMD chip, even at a lower speed. Note the Sager has a 2.1GHz CPU, not 2.0.

4GB of memory is up to you. If you do heavy video editing, then you might want it, but otherwise, you probably won't end up using it. 2GB is just fine.

The larger hard disk is also up to you. Note that upgrading the Sager's disk to the same as the others doesn't put you over budget.

The fact that the Sager doesn't have 1GB of video memory is irrelevant. You won't be using 1GB of memory at that low of a resolution, anyway. You won't notice a different between 1GB and 512MB unless you get a high-res external monitor (which, if that's the case, the GPU isn't powerful enough to drive games that high anyway). Having more video memory is a marketing gimmick.

You can upgrade the Sager's model 4GB and about the Video card the Sager one has HD 4650 as well and if one has 512 and the other one has 1GB the difference isn't noticeable in games
About Turion vs C2D,its not only the Mhz which makes a CPU better, there are other factors too and as frozenlead said the C2D model outperforms the turion one.
