I cannot say much about the Samsung, but I have the Benq e2200hd which is basically the smaller brother of the e2400hd you're asking about. The specs of these two are pretty much the same, the only difference is the resolution, so let me share some experiences with the e2200hd, which I think will be helpful to make your decision.

The Benq monitor is great for gaming and watching video which are also the main purposes I use it for. The response time of 2ms is enough for most games. I can hardly notice any backlight bleeding, the pictures are sharp and the colors very rich.

Both (e22 and e24) are Full HD 16:9 monitors, so watching blu-ray or connecting gaming consoles like the PS3 is no problem and works fine.

For the outside, the monitor has a beautiful design with a glossy cover, the monitor menu is easy to navigate, the buttons are on the right side of the monitor and good to reach.

Connectors are DVI and HDMI which leaves no wishes open for gaming and any other kind of activity.

I totally like this monitor, so far it offers everything I need. Besides, it is available for a very attractive price.

Hope this help you deciding, man, I can only recommend it.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply. I have a loaner LG 2373 at the moment and am going to go with the BenQ when I have to return it.

If you decide to go for Benq you might take a look at the G2412HD as well, it's newer than the E2400hd and even a little cheaper. Apart from that specs are mostly the same.
