Hi all - this is my first visit here. I have an _old_ Plustek 9636t scanner that has always worked beautifully and that I would very much like to keep.

Suddenly fine black (or blue?) horizontal lines (with respect to a portrait orientation) started to appear in all my scans and are pretty much useless. I tried messing with the parallel port mode settings in the BIOS, no change, and also reinstalled the scanner software. Not because I thought it would help, but because I don't know what else to do. I suppose I could reinstall Windows, but that would *really* be drawing at straws! Could this be some form of interlacing problem? Of course I've taken the obvious steps of shutting everything down (countless times) and also reseating the cable.

My instinct tells me that if there's any hope for this scanner, it will probably have to come from this esteemed site, so any suggestions will be VERY much appreciated...

...Dave
