I saw the new GW 2005-2006 Catalog.

It is *much* less useful than the 2004-2005 Catalog. The old version
was 1000 pages, with "Classic" and "Collectors" models, along with most
of the Specialist Games models and bitz illustrated.

The new one has fewer pages, doesn't show Classic / Collectors models,
and only has ONE intro page per SG system. Furthermore, many variants
(such as the Old Reliable Steam Tank) aren't shown. Instead, there are
more (worthless) LotR pages. :(

I believe the Chaos Dwarves were omitted entirely. :D

Still, GW learned one thing, and didn't bother including prices in the
book. I guess they want to make it easier to raise prices a month after
publication.

Also, GW has simply marked certain ranges (Dark Eldar, most Dogs of War,
"Classic" Stormtroopers) as "Special Order", with no further explanation
as to what they are intending.

If you have the old 2004-2005 Catalog, there is no compelling reason to
get the new Catalog.

If GW US reads this, I would humbly suggest that the spaces consumed by
LotR would be far better served by restoring the Classic and Collector's
models, along with Specialist Games. That stuff is at least useful.

But if they did that how would they ever sell those 'collectors' books?

Seriously, do the Tau and Necrons need a collectors book? When they
did it with SMurfs that wasn't too bad, but Tau??

all GW games are worthless anyway. That is why I sold off and went to

He is just generalizing, I like Warmachine, but I'm not about to sell off my
40K or fantasy army just because I found another system to play, I used to
play Warzone as well. That I would consider selling though, as I am about
the only person in the known universe that actually seems to have played
it...

Hehe, I've got Warzone too - but I mainly got it for the low cost
Imperial Guard figures.

They do make good looking Armageddon style IG now that you mention it. I was
thinking of using them as a GS-cult army at one time...

What's worse is if you buy the New Hardboud LOTR book you get pictures
of the entire range ayway!

TO make money for mail order / they have fixed space in thier stores and
for evey new race something has to go. But they have perfectly good
molds that they can run at a higher price/profit
