There are a lot of high quality enclosures for IDE and IDE is cheaper than SATA, so there is not much demand. I could only find one enclosure. There are simply more spare PATA IDE drives floating arround than there are SATA IDE drives. jiaruigoh October 1, 2005 4:09:50 PM I know that too. But the issue is I am moving to a laptop and my old desktop has 2 sata harddrives in it. is there any site that deals with this or whatsoever? -thanks jiaruigoh October 9, 2005 7:30:31 PM *bump Does anyone have any special recommendation in manufacturer for external enclosures? 4Ryan6 October 10, 2005 12:12:05 AM You could always use a SATA to IDE adapter, BUT ONLY IF THERES ENOUGH ROOM INSIDE THE ENCLOSURE, which there probably isn't. AMD XP 3200+ / Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe / Corsair XMS PC3200 1024mb LLC2 / ATI X850 Pro / SoundBlaster X-FI / 2 Seagate SATA 7200rpm/8mb / Plextor PX-716A DVDRW jiaruigoh October 10, 2005 12:49:58 AM and those adapters are often the same price as an average enclosure do I hear more constructive comments? 4Ryan6 October 10, 2005 4:14:42 AM Check This Out AMD XP 3200+ / Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe / Corsair XMS PC3200 1024mb LLC2 / ATI X850 Pro / SoundBlaster X-FI / 2 Seagate SATA 7200rpm/8mb / Plextor PX-716A DVDRW Can't find your answer ?
