Sony vaio vs. toshiba satellite

Hello,
My mom is looking to buy a new computer. The 3 that she's toying with...sony vaio, toshiba satellite and then there's macbook. She takes and keeps a lot of pix but nothing major. She opens a lot of mail, making her susceptable to lots of virus's/ She needs help making this decision.

The only brand of laptop that may offer some inherent virus protection is Apple because there are fewer user so less point in writing viruses for it. Of course you can add anti-virus programs to either Sony or Toshiba.

Though all brands make some good and some less good computers, based on friends' experiences Toshiba make more solid laptops than Sony.
