My Lenovo Matshita DVD Driver is not reading empty DVD

i m using Matshita UJ-875S dvd drive.. It is reading all types of CDs. But it is not reading Empty DVD. It is simply lying inside the drive not rotating.Pls give me a solution

The drive can't read anything if the disc is empty! Are you trying to say that the drive can't do anything with blank DVDs, even burn data onto them?

Yes i tried with many burning softwares.. The CD is not rotating too. It is just lying inside the Drive.. At the same time it is not Burning the DVD.

I m using Windows 7 OS.. Is there any problem if we change the OS.

Can anyone help? I can't find my driver! My dvd player has disappeared! Doesn't show up on computer...I have Vista on my laptop. Just upgraded Java? Deleted some extra programs? Was going to copy some shows for Christmas family party!!!
