Can I connect an external CD drive via USB port and download printer software to tha Acer Aspire one D 150 netbook without causing problems to the netbook?

It should be able to handle it. You'll have to download the drivers.

If not, you'll probably have to get an external cd rom with its own power supply. I'm not sure how many watts netbooks require have off of the top of my head.
