Forum Home Audio : MP3 Players Sandisk error messages

My SanDisk MP3 player model SDMX1-512R has an Error code that says "Reformat Internal Media with SIGMATEL teleformatter". I cannot reformat when I connect it to the computer. It shows up as Drive H and not as the SANDISK device as it has before when I connected. If I try to open it, it says it needs to be reformatted, nut then it won't let me reformat it. How do I reset it with the original software?

I would contact Sandisk and see if they have the Sigmatel Formatter available for download. Normally it's an option within the player's settings -- e.g. Format or Re-initialise Player.

Sigmatel have changed their name following a takeover -- and basically are a chip maker anyway not consumer orientated -- the design of the Sansa players will be an adaption probably.

Don't attempt to reformat the player in Windows.
