I am going to buy an external HD just for storing and playing my music from. Do I need an 8mb cache? Or will 2mb be good enough?

2mb will do but the cost between them is usually not that much if any. So I would just stick to the 8mb cache. Unless you play the same song over and over the cache really wont get used much anyway.
