I got hold of a Compaq R3000H UPS at work (about to be junked due to
upgrades). Except some minor scratches the unit is working perfectly.
The only problem I have is that I would like to know what kind of cable
the UPS uses to communicate with the host system. Reading the manual I
get the impression that the COM cable is some special cable (I might be
wrong about this tough).
I would really like to build my own cable so I'm looking for a cable
description / pinout. Does this UPS accept some sort of standard
cable?! if so what?!

Thanks in advance!

My guess is you will have to have software and drivers for the
Compaq R3000H. Although I could be wrong.

Cheers!
