Random crackling distortion on tv

Hello,
my tv has randomly started intermittently going mad with a crackling and fuzzing sound that can go on for some time and then clears by itself. This is driving me cuckoo...could it be a problem with my sky box or tv does anyone know please?

Could be your power supply, where is the sound coming from? Could be blown speakers also.

best way to determine where the sound is coming from is to put a paper towel roll up to your ear.
