Dell XPS Studio 16 with RGBLED 1080p monitor, 6gb 1333 memory, 500gb 7200rpm hdd, i7 820 processor, 1gb gpx and everything else the same as DELL Alienware m15x ... smaller monitor (by a fraction) and I'm not sure if its LED or RGBLED, but all the other components the same.

The Dell XPS studio is 1 kilo lighter, US$500 cheaper!!!!, 1 inch thinner ... am I missing something here ... is there some magic with the glowing eyes on the case that makes the alienware m15x go that much faster that it is really worth US$500 more, or should I just buy the Dell XPS Studio 16 before Dell figures it out?

O no, it's just the brand name that you are paying for. If you are thinking about buying, go with the Dell. Obviously more bang for the buck.
