Import Sony Handycam video

i have a sony handycam dcr-hc16e mini dv and i can't import my videos in my laptop fujitsu with windows 7

why not?

do you have a cord to connect the handycam to the laptop?

the sony website says you need a program to playback the video on the camcorder and send the video to the computer software.

since it doesnt store its data digitally.. there is no memory to access and copy the files from.
