WII to lcd flickering problem

I've spent a month trying to hook up my wii to my 22" viewsonic lcd monitor. After buying the wrong box, then I think theright box but wrong lead, I thought I had all the correct components but now have a major flickering problem.
Here's what I have setup:-

I thought i'd include the links to my setup as i'm thinking I may have a wrong match somewhere!

When I put the settings at 480p it flickers the worst at 50hz it flickers the least. My lcd is set at 1280x720 as is the vga box.

I've got my pc running through the box fine, no problem there. Maybe it's the cable?
Any help appreciated before I giveup and buy a tv.
