Problems with my wireless mouse

Okay so I have this wireless mouse and I swear it used to work, but I had switched to a wired mouse for a while just to try it out, but now I want to go back to this wireless mouse, however I can not get it to sync with my computer at all. I put the adapter thing in the usb drive and hit the connect button on it and then hit the connect button on the mouse, and it still won't sync. It's a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 if that helps at all. I also went to the Microsoft website and downloaded the newest drivers (intellipoint 7.0 I think) and still nothing. Any ideas?
