External monitor is not recognized by Lenovo T400

I'm using my lenovo T400 with a docking station and an Airlink 100 USB KVM Switch. As soon as I switch to T400, the external monitor is not recognized, although the mouse and keyboard work fine. I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions. IBM says they can't help as the issue may lie within the switch. This KVM setup worked perfectly with my ThinkPad T42 until I replaced it with T400 recently.

For the Y42, did you have to install drivers on the laptop for the switch to work properly?

Yes, and I have installed the same drivers for the switch on the T400 as well.
