The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you’ll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010. You’ll also need to install the programs and data that you want to use

if they didn't' people would go till the last minute and then lose their computer till they saved enough to buy an os. look at the transition to digital cable how many times did they move the date for people that couldn't get it together. And i still got a ton of calls when they finally switched it from people who weren't prepared.

Maybe MS could post an onscreen warning. Even a reminder on the update downloads. Having the screen blink off and on reminds me of having a system with 3,456,276 instances of virus and spyware. Just my experience. Oh, I forgot it was Monday...June 1, 2010. That's the day MS will make my computer shut down as a reminder I have to buy the OS now. Just funny is all.
