I have gateway solo5350 laptop, win xp, p-III that I replaced the hard drive
in. Re-installed xp all drivers (from gateway disks or website) win updates,
I did not have a problem until I installed sp2. Screen started flashing and
at times would go completely white for a second, sometimes several seconds.
I thought the problem was sp2, I checked all driver updates, especially video
& sound. I removed sp2 and still had problem. I did a bios update from
gateway, still had problems and seemed to e getting worse. I totally
re-installed xp (new) and noticed the screen was flashing during reformat! I
have totally reloaded everything, including win updates, all except sp2 and
still have problem. I am thinking motherboard issue. Is there any other
possiblity?
Thanks in advance.
