how do i replace a corrupted :systemroot\system32\config\software file in Win2000 from recovery console ?

My OS will not boot , and says that file is corrupted.
I have gone into recovery console, ran CHKDSK , with autochk.exe ,...but no problems were fixed.

How do i delete the corrupted file above, or import the file from the CDROM ....? ? ?

Or is there a better way to repair the OS without a clean install ?

I tried the emergency repair option , but it would not detect my OS....

Thankyou....
