i read up on the magnavox odyssey and realized how simplistic it is. i then got the idea of trying to make my own odyssey. i found the schematic for it and i also have the service manual for it. does anyone have a thorough parts list for the magnavox odyssey? i want to buy all the parts one time around and be sure i get the right parts.

i guess the first question i should ask is whether or not this is even possible, i mean there doesn't seem to be anything in the odyssey you can't buy off the shelf and it has no ic's at all in it(although i'm pretty sure it could be condensed a bit if ic's were used in place of transistors).

thank you for taking the time to read this, quite anxious to get started on this :)

between the schematic and the service manual .. there are no values for the pieces?

if not..
you would be building somebody else's engineering sample.
and that means the quality is the choice of somebody else.
AND you dont know if the quality will be anything close to what you are looking for.

willing to waste your time and money there?
eventually you might find somebody that will pat-pat-pat you on the head.
