So I just bought a laptop with a core 2 duo T6500, now on intels website it says this is a 64 bit processor, but the windows 7 that came with this is 32 bit. Did they just install 32 bit as a cost cutting measure? Can I install 64 bit windows 7 on here?

Sure you can install 64 bit. You'll probably have to buy a key for it though. They probably went with 32-bit because they put under 4GB of ram in it, i.e. no point in an OS that can address more than 4GB of RAM if it only has 2 or 3GB.

Eh... I'll just go with the call microsoft and tell them I lost my ultimate key method of things.
