Game Controller (driver) question.

Hello, I recently got an XBox 360 Racing Wheel from a friend, so I bought a Microsoft Wireless Gaming adapter (allows you to use xb360 wireless devices on PC), and everything works great, there's just one slight problem, both the gas and brake pedal are on the same Axis, on opposing ends, so if you were to press both in at the same time, it does nothing. I was wondering if it is at all possible to place them on separate axes, or divide their axis into two different ones.
