No bootable device dell

Hello, my lappy is saying no bootable device is found
but in bios setup it is showing my hard disk
if i insert bootable dvd also it is saying no bootable device
please help me out

If the BIOS is detecting the hard disk (boot disk), but will not boot, AND the computer will not boot from the bootable DVD, then it could be a fault with the HDD/Motherboard - (Not recognising a HDD is detected properly).

If this is an old laptop, it is time to look at replacements.
