Does anyone have any figures for the relative power consumption figures
for the various brands of Memory Stick. I have a Sony TH55 and I bought
the cheapest Sandisk 256MB Memory Stick Pro I could find (a blue one).
My battery drain overnight is higher than I would expect and after pulling out
the memory stick I suspect that this is the cause.
I called Sandisk and believe it or not they claimed that their deal with Sony
prohibited them from giving me their specs on power consumption! Other
vendors quote 130 micro amps as standby power consumption. I'm wondering
if the Sandisk is much worse than this.
My 256MB card was always a throw-away stop gap until I could afford a 1GB
or 2GB card so next time I will be more careful to check power consumption
data but I would like to find out what my baseline figure is (i.e. my existing Sandisk).
