I have an old board, Asus P2-99, It runs a PIII 450, and The Intel 440ZX chipset.

I want to know if this new converter that allows me to run newer PIII CPU will work with my board.

any help is appriciated.

This article describes a converter for BX based boards, I don't believe there is an equivalent for ZX.

Never pay more that a hundred pound for a component. It just isn't worth it...

Anyone else??, that actually knows for sure?? the ZX chipset is based on the BX so i would think they are compatable

Im pretty sure it will all fit, but the ZX will only be able to run Processors at its maximum FSB (I think that was 66mhz) unless you overclock it. Its the same as the BX, you can run it at 133 even though its max fsb is 100 however the PCI/AGP bus speeds will be out of spec. Unless you have dividers on your board it could be a bit dodgy. You could always get a BX board, I believe theyre quite cheap second hand nowadays
