Was considering the Envy 15 or the Asus G51J, but the first has mixed reviews and is bloody expensive, the second is a powerhouse bu the decals are a bit "boy racer" to turn up for work and give a presentation, but the graphics card is amazing. I don't play that much but would like to keep playingg the occasional game for a few years to come, so I believe buying a top of the range card for now is the way to go.
Thanks for the help!!
The envy is from a "boutique" builder VoodooPC which you will find identical boxes from the likes of WindowPC, FalconNorthwest, etc....one thing they have in common is that they are now or were, like Alienware pre-Dell, all made by the same outfit which is a US distributor for an ODM called Clevo.
You can learn about ODM's (the brands you know don't actually build the laptops, they just buy them from an ODM). All the brands you hear / read about (Lenovo, HP, Toshiba, etc), with few exceptions (i.e. Asus, MSI) are made by ODM's...you can find out more about these here:
Thanks for the advice.
I checked the ODMs but they ll end up being incredibly expensive.
What I really want to know is if there's something out there that comes vaguely close to the Asus G51J but with a little less "boy racer look" and a little more battery life.
Also, has anyone tried playing on the Envy 15? What's it like?
Thanks & cheers
