I am currently in the market for a color laser printer, and I'd love some advice from all of you. My wife and I are sick of inkjets, so that is out of the question for us. We do use the printer rather infrequently (maybe on the order of a few times per month). I have read that some laser printers have serious problems with clogged heads, etc. if they aren't used on a regular basis (like the Xerox Phasers). This could be wrong, but I'd especially love input on this concern! However, there are times where the printer might have a higher load, albeit for a short period of time. For instance, my wife is designing and will be printing out wedding invitations for a relative very shortly. So obviously, it will need to be able to produce a pretty good image.

At work, we've got two printers that are in the range of what we're looking for - A Xerox Phaser, and a Brother MFP. I love the color reproduction of the Phaser, but from reviews I'm wondering how reliable they would actually be. I don't want a printer that's going to require frequent maintenance, or that will be of unreasonably high cost (like Brother printers requiring you to replace all toners at once even if they're not empty).

An MFP would be preferred, but if it breaks the bank, I'd rather get a solid color laser printer, and a cheapo black and white MFP.

The last thing I'm looking for is one that will be able to print on card stock. I'm not sure if that's a deal-breaker yet, but it is pretty important.

If you have any ideas for companies or suggestions for specific models, I would love to hear. The biggest deal is to not have a printer that's going to break in a year because of low use or poor manufacturing.
