As the title says, I'm switching out my current 4:3 monitor, a Samsung Syncmaster 204b 20.1" (Deactivated item, but the page still works ), to a 24"+ 16:10 monitor of some kind. For what it's worth, my primary concern is gaming, though I'll also use my rig for movie watching, surfing, and general college-student 'productivity' tasks. I'd rather have something with better response time than prettier colors, if it's a choice for the money.
Also, I've got a 55" in the living-room for my games, have plenty of data connectors on my case and G15 keyboard, use a quality 5.1 sound setup, and don't want a web-cam, so I don't need a bunch of price-jacking clutter. I just want a good, simple monitor that will treat me as well as my 204b has. Current leader is the Asus VW266H 25.5", but I'll admit my research has been rather limited.
Hard limit on my budget is $400, and I'd prefer to stay under $350.
