Toshiba P770 wireless adapter

Hello,
I can't turn on the wireless adapter with the Function key (F8). My wireless had been functioning fine the out of the blue it quit. A few days before the problem I had downloaded a recommended BIOS from Toshiba. I restored the machine to a time before the download but it's still not working. Any help will be greatly appreciated. BTW-I'm not very computer savy so please try and explain in layman's terms. Thx so much for your help!

There should be a switch somewhere to turn on wifi.
There should be a touch panel where the lights come out with the wifi indicator.
