I want to get either an AMD XP 2600, 2700, or 2800 and I plan on overclocking the FSB to 200MHz. I was wondering which one(s) I would be able to get up to the 200MHz mark? I know they run at different voltages, which causes heat, which means CRASH. I have an Innovatek water cooled system in my PC, so I think I can handle a lot of heat from the processor. So based on that info, should I be able to get an XP 2600 to 200MHz just as easy as an XP 2800?
Yes u will be able to get ur 2600+ to the 200Mhz FSB Mark.....as can a 2400+...as will a 2700+or 2800+ the T-Bred B's r VERY Oc'able......as for voltages......u shouldnt be worrying about heat especially if u have a watercooling setup already........
Ur best off with the 2700+ overall if u want overall performance as it will OC just as much as a 2800+ for less money......
You should get a 166MHz FSB XP2600+. THat'll do 200MHz FSB with some difficulty. The XP2400+ is only 133MHz FSB, so getting it to 200MHz fSB (without unlocking of course) will be near impossible, as that would be 3GHZ!!!!!!
The XP2700+ and 2800+ would be a bit harder than the XP2600+ to get to 200MHZ FSB since that would be 2.6GHz and 2.7GHz respectively.
...And all the King's horses and all the King's men couldn't put my computer back together again...
I was actually only asking between the XP 2600, 2700, and the 2800, I've never been interested in the 2400. I figured the only difference between the OC ability of these chips would be the heat they are producing. All three of these chips are the same technology, T-Bird B core at 166FSB.
