I've recently fried my MoBo and I am looking for a replacement that will support both the Thunderbird 1.33 and the XP line of processors, but I'm unsure if an XP board will support an old Thunderbird. Should I go for a newer XP Motherboard?

Current Specs:
AsusA7A266 (Fried)
AMD Thunderbird 1.33 GHz (Possibly Fried)
256 DDR Ram (Fried)

I think that you should go for newer XP Motherboard, and also replace your old Thunderbird for one new XP processor.

All AXP mobos support Thunderbird. Get a new mobo. If your Tbird works, then you may keep it. Otherwise buy an AXP. If you are feeling slow with your Tbird, then consider getting a faster AXP (2100+ or faster). nForce2 mobos are recommended. Best nForce2 mobo:- ASUS A7N8X. Best value nForce2 mobo:- MSI K7N2-L

Greetings!

I was in the same boat as you. I replaced my mobo with the Asus A7N8X Deluxe running a T-Bird 1.4. I will soon be upgrading CPU to XP2600+ with 333MHz fsb.

Good luck!
