My computer won't shut down????

I try to shut it down and it just boots right back up again. Any help?

I have to assume you are running Win2k since you posted it here, so, do you have ACPI Power Management enabled in the BIOS of the motherboard? If not, do so and let us know if this does it. Also, if the motherboard has a VIA chipset on it for the Athlon TBird/Duron, have you installed the latest VIA drivers, or I should say other than the ones that Win2k installs by default? If not, do so as the drivers update the ACPI Power Management in Windows as well.

ditto, and i've also read that you need to disable "apm" in bios in order to get acpi to work.
